Bizover Indonesia, a 60 member strong delegation lead by Mr. V. Neethi Mohan – Chairman of YES and Former President of Tamilnadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Mr. K.Pounraj was the Coordinator for the Delegation. The team had a successful business delegation trip to Indonesia and Malaysia from 22nd January 2012 to 28th January 2012. This is the 3rd delegation for YES after visiting China & Hong Kong in 2006 and Sri Lanka in 2010.
The delegates, aged between 25 and 40, head business units in various fields in the small and medium sector.
In Indonesia, around 100 Members from KADIN – the prime Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia and the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Indonesia participated in the meeting and the buyer-seller meet held at Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta on 24th January 2012. His Excellency Shri Biren Nanda – The Ambassador of India to Indonesia delivered the special address along with KADIN Chairman Mr. Suryo Bambang Sulisto and The Secretary General of Young Entrepreneurs Association of Indonesia.
The buyer seller meet (BSM) was a grand success. Business worth 1.5 million dollars was concluded at the BSM.
The Chairman of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association, Mr. Raja Sapta Oktohari, who is the CEO of Lion Air (A Leading Airlines in Indonesia), hosted dinner meet to our YES delegates. Mr. Oktohari has recently signed a 21.40 Billion Dollar deal to buy 384 aircrafts in a single order. During the dinner meet, the chaiman of the delegation Mr. V. Neethi Mohan, requested Mr. Raja Sapta Oktohari to connect Jakarta with Madurai by Lion Air. Mr. Oktohari assured to look in to the feasibility of the same.
The delegates also visited a billion dollar company PT Indorama Synthetics Tbk at Bandung who are engaged in continuous polymerization, spinning and weaving of synthetic fabrics.
In Malaysia, the Kuala Lumpur Selangor Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KLSICCI) hosted our delegates in Kuala Lumpur on 27thJanuary 2012 at Royal Selangor Club. The meeting was officiated by Honorable Minister for Human resources of Malaysia Dr. Dato Seri Subramaniam, and His Excellency Mr. Vijay K. Gokhale – Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia.
Dr. Subramaniam delivered his address about the Malaysia’s vision 2020 to double the per capita income from the current $7000 to $14000 and the action plan for attaining this target. He highlighted the importance of the trade relationship between India and Malaysia.
Mr. Vijay K.Gokhale – Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia shared about the recently signed Comprehensive Economic (CECA) between India and Malaysia and its importance between the two nations.
East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) gave a presentation and invited our members to bring investment into ECER zone.
All the delegates found the visit to be a beneficial one. This visit gave them an insight to gain knowledge on international trade.
